About Patapsco Distilling
Towson University graduate and Patapsco Distilling founder, Scott Jendrek got started brewing his own beer 20 years ago. A career in biotechnology piqued Scott’s interest of the fermentation process. He spent the next two decades crafting his skill. The process of brewing beer and distilling spirits are actually identical in the early stages. A few years ago, a turn toward distilling spirits made with local, Maryland grain became Scott’s passion.
The production of enjoyable craft distilled spirits starts with the science and if the scientific process is sound, the finished product will be excellent. Add to it the charm of a downtown Sykesville, Maryland location in a historic, 4,000 square foot building, and Patapsco Distilling was born.
Opened the doors April 22, 2017. Our products are produced from 100% locally grown Maryland grains.
